About Me

Hi, I'm Hector Quintanilla.
LinkedIn / Quora / Medium / Twitter
Since 2016, I’ve shared stories online from my three-decade entrepreneurial journey.
Maybe you have read some of my business posts — nearly 150 million views and 5 million up-votes so far.
Or perhaps you’re one of my 195,000 Quora followers, or follow my “Entrepreneurial Mindset” Space with its 2.2 million readers.
I started my first business as a full-time college student with zero experience. The business evolved and is still running today, 30 years later: Clothing Alterations: FitFix / MendMaster / MasterFix
During the 2008 crash, I ignored the macroeconomic signs and lost nearly one million dollars while developing a $30 million, 72-unit complex in south Texas.
Today, I'm focused on real estate investments and my small-business portfolio.
Seven startups (some wins and some painful lessons) have shown me what it really takes to succeed
- GluGlass Urethane Adhesives — a B2B supplier for windshield technicians across south Texas. (Still active today.)
- NanoTerra Soil — Imported a cutting-edge German Nanotech Polymer; great tech, found zero local traction. (Failed and burned out in 18 months and became one of my most expensive classrooms.)
With a bit of guidance from me, my oldest son grew his startup to six figures while studying full-time in Milan.
I’m passionate about helping new entrepreneurs. During the pandemic, I coached dozens around the world, helping them overcome the challenges of starting or growing a business.

The world is changing fast, and schools aren’t keeping up. As a dad of four, I see the gap between classroom theory and real-world practice.
I empathize with millions who can no longer count on “job security.” I believe side hustles and solopreneurship aren’t just a lifestyle anymore — they’re now a necessity.
I love sharing what I learn and how I see the future unfolding.
Wishing you success,
Hector Quintanilla
