What to Post When You Have Nothing to Say
If you’ve ever stared at a blank screen wondering what to post, this will help you. I’ll show you how I “steal from myself” to write trust-building posts — without starting from scratch.
“What should I post today?”
That’s the challenge that’s impacted more good creators than writer’s block ever has.
And I get it.
I’ve had plenty of mornings where I sit down to write...
and nothing comes out.
No inspiration.
No spark.
Just a blinking cursor.
And a brain that feels blank.
But after years of showing up online, I’ve learned something that works — every single time.
When I feel stuck, I don’t try to be clever.
I don’t open ChatGPT.
I don’t scroll LinkedIn hoping for a divine hook from someone else’s feed.
Instead?
I steal from myself!

What It Actually Means to “Steal from Yourself”
This isn’t about recycling fluff or reposting old content just to stay visible.
It’s about pulling golden ideas from the work you’ve already done — and refining it into something better.
Here’s what I do:
- I open up old emails I’ve written
- I scroll through past posts
- I skim drafts and notes from months ago
- I look at comments or DMs that sparked real conversations
And I search for one line that still feels good.
That’s it.
One insight. One punchy sentence. One belief worth repeating.
Then I shift the angle.
I tighten the message.
And I turn it into a fresh post — built on something I already know resonates.
You Don’t Need New Ideas.
You Need New Angles on What You Already Love Sharing.
Most people think they need to be original all the time.
But TRUST isn’t built by sounding new.
It’s built by sounding clear — and showing up consistently with conviction.
So when I hit a creative wall, I ask myself:
“What’s something I’ve already said…
that’s still worth repeating?”
Nine times out of ten, I find something better than if I started from scratch.
This Isn’t Lazy.
It’s Strategic. And It Builds Trust.
If you’re a solopreneur, coach, or creator trying to build trust online…
You don’t need to be brilliant every day.
You don’t need a brand new idea in every post.
You just need to remind your audience that you’re still here.
Still consistent. Still focused on helping them.
That’s how you stay visible.
That’s how you stay remembered.
That’s how you build trust.
Wishing you success,
HQ
